BTP Sports was in the building at Death Valley as the Tigers took on the Southeastern Louisiana Lions. The onset of the game had the feel of a “cupcake” matchup where the Tigers were expected to prepare for their match up with rival Auburn next Saturday. The Lions, however had other plans, they came out and to their credit put up a decent fight, regardless of their lack of size. The Tigers offense struggled with only 47 yards rushing and 57 yards passing after the first quarter of action.
The pace was steady and hard-hitting. Our photographer Elmo Vincent had a close encounter with Tigers QB Joe Burrow on a scoring drive late in the first quarter.
The Tigers cruised the rest of the way to an easy 32-0 victory. The game was capped by a late 64 yard fumble return to the Lions 18 yard line that set up the final score. They moved to 2-0. It will be interesting to see what adjustments Head Coach Ed Orgeron makes on the offensive side of the ball as they prepare for the War Eagles next week.
